Eric Turbeville



Born and raised in Hood County, Captain Eric Turbeville began his career in Law Enforcement at the Hood County Sheriff’s Office in December 2012 at the age of 19. He began as a Detention Officer with a temporary Jailers License and after completing the Texas State Jail Test in August 2013 he received his full Texas Jailer’s License. That same year in October he was promoted to Jail Sergeant. In August 2015 he made Jail Lieutenant and in February 2016 he became an Administrative Lieutenant. His biggest achievement thus far came on May 11th 2019 when he became the new Jail Administrator. Captain Turbeville oversees 48 Detention Officers along with other staff which include Clerical and Medical. Captain Turbeville is also responsible for a 192 bed facility, insuring the Jail stays in compliance with Texas Commission on Jail Standards and is ready at any moment for surprise inspections by the state. His duties include planning, organizing and implementing Jail operations of the Corrections Division. Over the course of his career Captain Turbeville has earned many certificates such as, Background Investigator, Field Training Officer and Jail Administration Management and Operations certificate. Captain Turbeville has also achieved recognition awards since his career started including Jailer of the Year and Supervisor of the Year. Captain Turbeville continues to strive in bettering himself for this community and his fellow Officers with insuring the proper training is given along with researching and implementing new and innovative ways to assist Inmates with rehabilitation as they reenter society.
