Johnathan Berry



Lieutenant Jonathan Berry has been serving the community as a Law Enforcement Officer for nearly a decade, since graduating from Weatherford College Law Enforcement Academy in 2009. He began his career with the Weatherford Police Department as a reserve officer, and then joined the Hood County Sheriff’s Office shortly thereafter in 2010.

Since his initial role as Patrol Deputy with the Hood County Sheriff’s Office, Jonathan Berry has earned and held the positions of Patrol Corporal and Patrol Sergeant, as well as served as a Field Training Officer for many years. In 2016, Jonathan Berry was then promoted to his current position of Patrol Lieutenant.

Over the course of his career, Lt. Berry has earned and utilized many certifications, including the following: TCOLE and ALERRT instructor; Hostage Negotiator; Firearms Instructor; and Background Investigator. Additionally, Lt. Berry holds his Advanced Peace Officer license, among many other certifications. Lt. Berry has also been honored in receiving many awards since his career began, including the Hometown Hero Award, Deputy of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, and Employee of the Year.

Lt. Berry has earned over 2500 hours of continuing education in his decade as a law enforcement officer, and continues to strive to better himself daily as he serves the community as the Hood County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Lieutenant. Throughout his time with this agency, he has overseen many various divisions and supportive services, including the following:

•Maritime Response Team and Boat Operations
•Honor Guard
•Property/Evidence Management
•Sex Offender Registration and Tracking
•Professional Development and Training
•Support to the United States Marshal Service (Fugitive Task Force)
