Emergency Notification System

Hood County will utilize Everbridge to provide both critical and non-critical information to its residents in real time. Hood County will issue informational messages via phone call, text message, and email. Notification preferences can be made by logging in to your Everbridge account.   

Hood County will send messages to individuals, groups, or neighborhoods to keep citizens informed before, during, and after critical events. Everbridge allows us the ability to notify the entire county, or specific residents in a targeted area of the emergency situation. 

Examples of Use

Examples of times when the Everbridge system could be utilized to notify Hood County residents include:

  • Bomb threats
  • Chemical spills or gas leaks
  • Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant emergencies
  • Drinking water contamination
  • Boil water notices
  • Evacuation notices and routes
  • Fires or floods
  • Hostage situations
  • Missing persons
  • Utility outages
  • Road closures
  • Various other incidents as needed
