The Hood County Appraisal District is responsible for property valuation, taxation, and property tax collection within Hood County.

The Hood Development Commission assists in the implementation and enforcement of Development Permit Regulations. The Commission is tasked with reviewing proposed development in Hood County and making a recommendation to Commissioners’ Court as to its conformance with applicable regulations.
HCHC exists to promote awareness of Hood County's heritage and coordinate with other historically minded organizations to build a stronger community.
Hood County Hospital District Board
Pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Chapter 323, the county library is under the general supervision of the commissioners court. The Library Advisory Board serves at the pleasure of the commissioners court to advise the commissioners court on the needs of the library and to serve as a liaison between the community, the commissioners court, and the county librarian.
The Mission of the Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District is to develop rules to provide protection to existing wells, prevent waste, promote conservation, provide a framework that will allow availability and accessibility of groundwater for future generations
